The trail was approved by the Frisco City Council on July 31, 2012 and is located on approximately 50 acres north of Lone Star High School (Teel and Panther Creek Pkwy).  The location is on the property of the future Northwest Community Park.  This will be a multi-use trail, meaning that although it is being billed as a Mountain Bike facility, walkers and runners will be allowed to take advantage.

Available Loops:  Initial cut was 2.5 miles and an additional 1.1 miles has recently been completed and open.  Click here for background and loop information.

Parking Facilities:  Gravel parking for 8-10 cars onsite has been installed by the City of Frisco, with an additional 8-10 spaces under construction.  This is the ONLY PARKING AVAILABLE.  Please do not park either on Gloryview Rd or at any of the adjacent schools.  Specifically with Gloryview Rd, there is a resident that utilizes this road as the only access to his home - be courteous and considerate of this fact - or your vehicle could be subject to towing.

We encourage nearby residents to ride their bikes to the trail head.

Trail Status: The buildout of the Frisco Mountain Bike Trail is now complete.  Planning will begin for additional sections of trail during the month of November at which time we'll be looking for volunteers to help with the buildout and would like to get a list of those willing to help with any ongoing maintenance.

Buildout and Maintenance

Trail stewards are Bill Woodard and Mark James.

If you would like to report a problem with the trail or have a question about it's use, please call (972) 853-1685.

Thanks for being a part of our first trail in Frisco!

The trail is taking shape and looking excellent. Spread the word on this great new MTB facility and recruit as much support as you can. Remember that it is not just for MTB use but for hiking and running as well. Be sure to support our great sponsors; Home Depot, Six & Mango and RBM. Without them we would not be headed down this new and exciting trail!

The link to email Mark and Bill doesn't seem to work. I'm looking to confirm the next work day and time. I may bring my U8 soccer team so I can get them dirty and yell at them. Let me know.

Never been mountain biking and the new trail is near my house. Is there beginner training rides by the club? Would also wand advise on how to prepare with equipment etc.

There are no beginner mt bike rides as of now with the club. With this trail your never further than maybe 1.5 miles from parking so if you had to walk its not to bad. Equipment: Tube , pump, multitool, tire levers, water, etc... Pretty much the standard you would carry on road ride. Check out the shawnee trail face book page. If your heading out to ride the trail post up there and you may end up running into a few members who may be out there around the same time.

I love the trail so far, I would like to see more challenge obstacles, more drops. Willing to volunteer to work on them.

William, We could definitely use the help. Right now we are in maintenance mode with all the grass growth out there, but will look to be building some more in the fall. Please contact me if you can help. Just leave a message at the trail hotline and I'll call you back.

Thanks
